About Chris Celusniak
Chris Celusniak is a Texas-based visual artist recognized for his intricate pen and ink illustrations and evocative storytelling. Drawing inspiration from history, mythology, vintage architecture, and the human condition, his richly detailed works are filled with layered symbolism that invite deeper reflection. “I want to create a window on a feeling that you and I may share,” Chris explains. Originally from Houston and now based in Austin, he exhibits widely across Texas and is represented by galleries in Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston. His work regularly appears in major regional art events, including the King William Art Fair, West austin Studio Tour, Rock Port, Round Top, and the Travis Heights Art Trail.
Before fully devoting himself to fine art, Chris ran Christopher Design from 1986 to 2021, a successful graphic design studio serving top clients across various industries. His creative work has earned numerous honors, such as being named the artist of the year for the Langdon Review of the arts, published in Print Magazine, Twice being selected by the Collective Arts for publication, Mead Award of Excellence, and was featured on the cover of the Langdon Review of the Arts in Texas. He has illustrated several notable publications including, University of Texas Press and Johns Hopkins University Press. He has exhibited at venues such as the Art for the People, River Art, Your private Collection, Prima Dora, and the Austin Museum of Art Gift Shop. In 2025, he was named a featured artist in CowParade San Antonio, the internationally acclaimed public art event. Through his decades-spanning career, Chris continues to explore shared emotion and unexpected narratives through his compelling visual language.
